The Management Team

Phebus Georgiades ( Owner and Host)
Phebus has had extensive Management experience [24 years] in the Retail and Hospitality sectors.As the previous General Manager and Director of the first branch of The Meat Company in Dubai. Phebus broke away from The Meat Company and went out on his own to open The Grand Grill Steakhouse, Dubai.

He has grown the Grand Grill to a well known successful business as mangaging parnter and host.Arguably recognized by many as the best Grill house EXPERIENCE in Dubai, Phebus built the business around excellence in process and people. His outstanding attributes are his Operational excellence, coupled with exemplary leadership and people skills. As the leader of this dynamic and competent team he commands committed, dedicated and enthusiastic followership.


Pageant Buthelezi ( Kitchen Operations Manager

Pageant brings 24 years experience to the business specializing in meat orientation.Pageant started in the restaurant industry in 1985 as a meat cutter, griller, and Kitchen co-coordinator.

He grew in the restaurant business to own his own restaurant [Black Steer] between 1993 -1998 in Cape Town, S.A. He joined The Meat Company group in 1999 as a Kitchen Manager overseeing new restaurant openings and establishments, including Sydney, Australia and Dubai.Pageant’s unique personality has enhanced our business and the hearts of our staff.

Duayne de Waal (Executive Chef)

Worked part-time in a catering business as chef de patrie prior to finishing Hotel School in 2000. Joined Sun International Hotel group in 2001 in South Africa. Covered all areas of the back-of-house in this establishment.Joined The Ladybird restaurant/coffee shop with responsibility for all kitchen and menu designs as well as Head Chef responsibilities.

In 2003 he joined a new company in Dubai called Times & Sushi Times as chef de patrie and worked his way up to Head Chef before joining The Meat Company Dubai in 2005 as Head Chef and was later appointed Assistant Kitchen Manager. This talented young Chef brings 9 years experience to the business and has also written and published his own cook book. A real talent!
